Changing the Alpha
overview:
In this tutorial i will be taking you through the process of changing the alpha of the dress. the Alpha is what shows up in the game and what doesn't. In this tutorial we will be working on the same dress from tutorial 1. http://passionssims2com.page.tl/Basic-maxis-mesh-recolor-.htm and continuing on we will be making pur dress into a sexy tub top.
Level: Easy, Medium, Hard
Begin:
Lets begin by opening the body shop back up and export the dress we have been working on. once you have exported and all that stuff you did on tutorial one you will need to open Paint. Net, but this time we will be working with the Alpha. the alpha is the black and white file in the my documents>EA Games>my sims 2> projects>whatever you named it. pick the one i have circled which is the alpha. see picture below.

I want to talk to you about the Alpha. now the alpha is what the dress will and will not show in the game. the black you will not see and the white you will. that other gray stuff i just dont know, but if you want to add you can or delete you can but its all about add color and taking it away. do you follow me? i hope so not once you have opened the alpha in the paint .net we are going to proceed with making a tub top. so in order to do this select the rectangle tool from the floating tool bar and select the open area of the breast and fill with white paint see picture

Now select the rectangle tool again and select to strapes of the dress on front and back view. and paint the black. now we need to make to front and back of the dress match up to have a tube top dress to do this  see picture below.

( note: you can not shorten a dress because it will only show the dress you tried to delete without color. it is because of the mesh. it is very confusing i know but just listen and follow the rules.)
to preview your work in the paint net  go to file>save as when it ask if you want to replace it click YES. now go back to the body shop and refresh and your work should look like this

The point of this tutorial is to teach you how to add and delete part of clothing. For in the next tutorial Making clothing from pictures. you will know how to add or delete parts you dont need and such. so play around with what you have learn because the more practice the better you will be  nd you will know more before the next tutorial and less likely to get lost.
thank you for trying this tutorial. tash 21666
