Overview:

In this tutorial you will be learning the first steps in creating new clothing for the sims 2. I will be taking you through the steps in picking a maxis outfit from the body shop and adding color to the clothing. you will also learn how to export and import in the Body shop.

(note: the body shop comes with the game. well it should)

Requirements:

Level: Easy, medium, hard

Begin:

Lets begin by opening up the Body shop. the body shop takes a long time on my computer so now you can go do something else while we are waiting.... ok are we finished? yes well this is what you should see in the body shop.

Once the body shop has finished loading click on create parts>start projects>create clothing>everday outfits. we need to select an outfit to recolor. Find the dress you see in the picture below. now i have picked the black dress and black shoes because they are dull and very ugly and so is the style but the style is another book we aint reading today. continuing on now select the dress then click export. now give you project a name. i will be calling mine afminidress1.

Paint. Net:

Let work on jazzing up the dress by opening up paint. net and add color to this dress. open up the dress file in paint net by selecting open in the top menu file go to open>my documents>EA Games>the sims 2>projects. now find the dress you named. mine was afminidress1.

I have circled the file we will be working on. so open this one. now inorder to color the dress select the rectangle tool in the floating side toolbar and select the bottom of both dresses up to the top. see picture below

now with the dress selected choose a color and click on the paint bucket and fill the selected area with the color of your choosing. see picture below

I now want to add color to the grandma shoes maxis has gave us. to do this do the same way you did the dress. only difference is selecting the bottom half see picture below

Lets go back to the body shop to preview our work. click the refresh buttom. it is a circling arrow. If you followed all my directions your outfit should look simular to mine. if you are satisified with the dress then you can import it into the game by clicking the import buttom below. see picture below.
